Huge error in Wikipedia

Being a fan of Thomas Edison, I would like to note the false statement in Wikipedia:

"These talents eventually led him to found 14 companies, including General Electric, which is still in existence and is the largest publicly traded company in the world."

Thomas Edison, according to historian Paul Israel, had his name forbidden from use for GE. His company was bought ought by a competitor and they wanted more control over intellectual property than Edison considered too much control over creativity. This was done while he was inventing and researching iron ore production.

Here's Encyclopedia Britannica:
"Edison General Electric Company : The company was incorporated in 1892, acquiring all the assets of the Edison General Electric Company and two other electrical companies. Edison General had been founded as the Edison Electric Light Company in 1878 by Thomas Alva Edison to market his incandescent lamp and other later products. Edison remained associated with General..."

Regarding wikis for work.

Using wikis for a business does have good potential for collaboration. People operating remotely can add useful information without need for in-between delivery or uploading by someone else. When given more freedom to achieve something, like posting FAQs or other data, groups end up with more inclusive cultures and all the benefits that come with people feeling like they are part of something useful.

Being able to put up data and have it scrutinized tends to be better than having one exclusive group having filtered data that leaves things out.

Good wiki uses:
Posting a how something is made or processed based on methodology or regulations. Showing how things are done can earn customer trust.

Posting company history with multiple input, or posting multiple stories about a person, place, or thing.

Wiki of customer comments

Competitors methods, etc.

Posting how to methods for customers based on their learning style, instead of one size fits all.

For an Internal Wiki:

Feed back on policies, rules, and procedures.

Stories about work, customers, and special events.

I want them dead....

I want millions and billions dead because they are different than me...

I'm referring to germs/viruses, etc. My cold is not going away and I have to slaughter billions to make it happen. That is all for today. Nap time.

Regarding Google Docs

The potential for Google docs is pretty good overall. If certain criteria are met, then it has great potential. For simple documents it works beautifully, though it's assumed people aren't going to write over each others work.

More from class and something about lack of class.

So this is for school, but I have some obnoxious people at work. Three co-workers gripe and moan when they have to go on the register. They often take 20-30 minutes for breaks, they go well beyond 1 hour for lunch (sometime 30 minutes longer). One said, "I'm watching your time." I said "that's nice!" Two have said "I'm leaving on time Ken." These three also show up late to give me breaks or lunch. They've got a propensity to text while on the register, or on the floor. It's rude of them and unprofessional. I call it a reminder of while having goals to be better.
